The Dead
Dawn
Scene 1Ext. Night 12th march 2014
Lisa
Come on we can go inside and look around we can take what we
need now and think about it later
Lauren and Lisa begin to enter through the open door and
progress into the house.
Scene 2 Int. night, darkness inside
As Lauren pulls out a torch to see what is ahead of them, Lisa
is suddenly draws her attention to a room to the side of them. Lisa starts to walk towards the room slowly
walking with a quickening pace towards it.
Lauren
Wait a minute we need to see what is behind
that door any fucker could be behind it. Lauren withdraws her knife as Lisa has
already withdrawn hers ‘we need to be careful and now let’s see what’s behind
door number one’.
With a
swift kick Lisa kicks the door causing it to fly backwards with great strain
Lisa
Come on let’s go and take care of this we can
see what there is to take in here.
Lauren
Ok but
only if you go first, I mean I’ll watch your back so nothing comes behind you
Lisa
Chicken
come on we can just have a quick look and a quick rummage.
Lauren and Lisa begin to walk
forward slowly creeping into the room, as they move they scan the area around
them to make sure that nothing is sneaking up behind them. Lauren hangs back
behind Lisa as they step forward into the room.
Lisa
Look swords
we can do with one of those
Scene 3 Int. night
Lisa shines
her torch on the fire place and runs up to it to discover a display of swords
and pulls one off the wall, we have to take one it’s practically begging to be
used.
Lisa doesn’t notice on the wall
that one of the swords is missing and that it is one of the biggest ones from
the mount.
Lauren
Take one if you want I cannot stop you but don’t come crawling
to me when you get it stuck, I’m going to stick with my knife thank you very
much
Lauren and Lisa
then decide to leave the room Lisa slightly ahead of Lauren but both of them
practically walking side by side.
Scene 4 int. night
As they are walking into the next
room Lauren hears a loud banging noise coming from the other room and turns her
head sharply to listen in.
Lauren
Lisa stop and listen a minute can you not here that banging
noise coming from the next room
Lauren and
Lisa begin to scan the room with their torches and come across writing on the
walls it reads ‘Help is here, stay where you are, this area is no longer safe,
and the dead can walk just for the love of god run if you have to’
Lisa
Hey look over there can you see
that help is on the way we just need to stay where we are.
Lauren glances towards the wall and
begins to read fast taking in every detail, as she reads a loud thump resounds
from the next room
Scene 5 Int. night
As Lauren and Lisa slowly
progress forwards following the source of the banging they enter into a kitchen
area
Lisa
Come on what is making that sound I must find out, we need to
know what parts of this building are compromised.
Sat in front of Lauren and Lisa is
ford who looks dishevelled to see them both inside the safe house.
Ford
What are you doing here get the fuck out now you’ll, draw them
in get out now just fucking leave
Lisa and
Lauren simultaneously
No
Ford looks on at them both looking quite angry and so pulls out
a sword and begins to threaten Lauren and Lisa with it.
Ford
Leave now
you will pay if you do not leave right this second.
Lisa draws her sword and
raises hers above her head, just as she does so ford stands and raises his
above his head
Lauren
Just leave
us alone we have done nothing to you we just want to fight the infected it should
be us against them not us against each other.
Just as Lauren finishes her
sentence the door breaks open and zombies pour in, Lisa and ford both turn to
face them and concentrate on the bigger problem. Lisa says shit now what do we
do.

Character development
The Hero -
works to bring the other protagonist to the safe zone and also helps to fight the antagonist and make sure that they do not get attacked by the zombies.
the other protagonist-
works with the hero to help achieve safety and avoid the zombies, they help to give the main protagonist the push they need as well as finding safety against the world
the antagonist-
they want to get to the safety zone and will kill anyone else who gets there before them, they help to provide a human enemy for the spectators to hate or relate to, this also helps to push forward the narrative because they provide various obstructions that the protagonists have to avoid.
zombies-
want to kill everything and they are seen as non human antagonists, they affect the film and its outcomes they also manage to interfere with the human antagonists and their plans showing that they are only hated when they are destroying the protagonists.

The Genre
The chosen genre of my film is Horror, the genre of horror is one of the most used genres, and is often seen in many hybrid forms this can be things such as seeing it in a comedy a romance, or even children's entertainment.
the horor genre is one of the pre existing genres and was not created from the combining of two other genres the genre itsself has existed individually and combined with other genres.
some of the more popular sub genres of horror now include;
zombies and infection related,
thriller,
vampires,
werewolves,
and slasher movies
slasher movies have always been popular because they can provide the audience with gore, they can also provide an easy to solve enigma which can be solved by the audience watching the film.
Iconography
There is usually a main protagonist, the main protagonist is usually the one who gets the girl in the end of the film, they are also usually the one gets to survive and they get to live happily ever after. There is usually a main female protagonist who gets to survive along with the main male protagonist, in a horror film they usually don't input much towards the plot or the survival of the other characters.
usually if the main protagonist is female she will be strong and completely independent, she usually survives and the film will either end with her being happy and with someone or alone and continuing.
Usually horror films are featured in the dark and make sure to keep the main protagonist lit so the audience can see them but make sure to keep the antagonist in the dark.
The murder weapon used in slasher films in usually something that can be found around the average household, this adds fear towards the antagonist because most people have them lying around their hose so the spectator fears it more.
